Hah!
I make a big post for Von Zipper and he doesn't even show up. He'll see it eventually, I suppose.Anyway, I had an insane idea the other day. It involves how I'm going to colorize my films and post them on this site, and if it works, not only will they be colorized, but finished! Don't get me wrong - they were completed, but usually in the last 1/3rd of the film the animation takes a big hit as I scramble to finish it. Now, since I've been colorizing the comic, I've become completely comfortable drawing with my Wacom tablet, rather than drawing on paper and scanning it in. That drawing of the girl with the gun in my previous post was done all in the computer, and I'm pretty happy with the result. So, since I've migrated my drawing skills completely to the computer, I'll be able to fix, tweak, and add on to scenes from my films without having to set everything up on my animation desk. The comic stuff has also forced me to learn the most efficient methods of scanning stuff in and coloring it, which was one of the parts that intimidated me the most about colorizing the films. Now it doesn't seem like a big deal. The insane part is how I'm going to assemble and output the animation frames. I'll wait and see if it actually works before I say anything else, so that I don't get emails saying, "you fucking idiot, you can't do it like that!". Once I get an issue of the comic done, I'll get to work on an animation test to see if my method holds water. Also, I'll be buying a giant, fast hard drive. Speaking of the comic, here are some random images from what I've completed so far:
